Summer To Do List
Read lots of comics, play video games
Toast marshmallows sitting by campfire flames
Capture some lightning bugs, watch some cartoons
Soak a few friends using water balloons
Eat purple popsicles, climb a few trees
Barbeque hot dogs, get scrapes on my knees
Take lots of naps, find mosquitoes to swat
Sit near a fan and complain that it’s hot
Lie in a hammock as if it’s my job
Go to the movies, eat corn on the cob
Sleep until noon and stay up until dawn
Try getting tan, avoid mowing the lawn
Watch girls in bikinis, be sure not to drool
Gulp down a soda then pee in the pool
Drink from the hose, put my toes in the sand
Make a few bucks with a lemonade stand
Pack up the minivan, drive to the beach
Eat every ice cream cone that’s within reach
But what I’ll do most in these months before fall
Is sit on my butt and do nothing at all
